This is a term that has been adopted in foreign discussions that are utilized to install a dialogue mechanism between 2 countries to discuss integral topics with defence and external affairs ministries.

The Agenda of the India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue will be the following:

  • Both sides will be engaging in discussions relating to regional issues, exchanging views about shared priorities relating to multilateral expansion and developing a framework similar to QUAD.

Ahad of the dialogues, the State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel had this to say

“India is a country that we have a deep partnership with and Blinken will be going for the India-US 2+2 Ministerial dialogues pertaining to security with Secretary of defence Austin, so I expect of course, that deepening the security cooperation and partnership will be one of the many topics that will be discussed.”
