Norway’s Hammerfest LNG Plant Suffers Unexpected Outage

Equinor’s Hammerfest LNG plant in Norway has suffered an unexpected outage due to a sudden loss of power, halting all output. The plant, which accounts for 5% of Norway’s gas exports, is expected to remain offline until Monday.

Meanwhile, Russia is rapidly transporting LNG through the Arctic Sea to Asia, and Japan is investing in Texas shale gas to diversify its energy sources.
