Dhirubhai Ambani, the visionary business tycoon, was born on December 28th, 1932, in Chorwad, Gujarat. His humble beginnings were marked by his father’s occupation as a school teacher, and his mother was a dedicated housewife. However, destiny had grand plans for him. At the age of 17, he embarked on a journey overseas to the British Colony of Aden.
In Aden, at the age of 17, Dhirubhai joined his brother in pursuit of work. His journey began as a clerk at the prestigious transcontinental trading company A. Besse & Co. During his tenure there, he immersed himself in the world of trading, and accounting, and honed his business acumen.
